One of the great privileges of being a wedding photographer in Yorkshire is that I get to experience some of the most wonderful and happy wedding days! One such occasion was Olly & Natasha’s special wedding day at The Old Deanery in Ripon.
The day started with excitement and anticipation as Natasha prepared for her big day in the comfort of her own home. Surrounded by her loved ones, the atmosphere was filled with laughter, joyful tears, and a sense of pure happiness. During this time, Natasha had her hair & make-up done by the amazingly talented Chrys Chapman. I was able to capture these magical moments, along with some personal details that Natasha had planned for the day. With anticipation building, the bridal party embarked on a stylish vintage car drive to The Old Deanery. The car was beautiful and was a really unique way to travel the scenic route from Natasha's home to The Old Deanery in Ripon.
Arriving at The Old Deanery, you can’t help but be reminded what a breathtaking wedding venue it is! Nestled in the historic city of Ripon, The Old Deanery exuded charm, elegance, and a sense of timelessness. Its picturesque gardens and stunning architecture created a romantic ambiance, making it the perfect setting for Olly and Natasha's special day. The venue had been meticulously decorated with floral arrangements and personal touches, adding a further touch of beauty to these wonderful surroundings.
The ceremony itself was really special, and made even more personal by some readings being read out by the couples loved ones. Set in the bay window of the The Old Deanery, it struck me that there are few better places to formally tie the knot! After the ceremony, we enjoyed a fantastic confetti tunnel which always is a photographers favourite moment of the day!! We then went off together to take some portraits of the happy couple, and I hope that Olly and Natasha will treasure these images forever!
The weather gods smiled upon Olly and Natasha, blessing their wedding day with sunshine all day! As experienced wedding photographers will tell you, we are always on the lookout for that elusive golden light – and we were SO lucky to have a truly magical golden hour to capture some stunning portraits of the newlyweds. I am so happy that we were able to produce a collection of images that beautifully encapsulated their love and happiness in this idyllic setting.
As the sun set and the day turned into night, the celebrations kicked into top gear. The atmosphere was so happy as a fantastic band (The Kickstarts) took the stage, filling the air with crowd pleasing ‘bangers’. From the first dance to the last, the dance floor remained packed, with guests dancing the night away. The energetic ambiance, combined with the heartfelt smiles and laughter, created an unforgettable night for everyone!
